DEUX VILLES & HUIT ARTISTES
À l’occasion du soixantenaire des relations diplomatiques franco-chinoises, les deux Espaces Culturels d’ICICLE déploient tout au long de l’année 2024 une série de huit expositions d’art contemporain croisées entre Paris et Shanghai, sous le commissariat général de Myriam Kryger.
Internationalement reconnus, confirmés ou émergents, issus des plus prestigieuses académies des beaux-arts ou autodidactes, ces huit artistes convergent dans un certain rapport à l’art et à la vie. Fidèles à la peinture et au dessin, attentifs au monde visible et loin de toute emphase discursive ou conceptuelle, ils sont avant tout des créateurs de la sensation, à l’écoute de la vibration du monde, sensibles à sa texture, à son épaisseur, à son mystère.
To mark the sixtieth anniversary of Franco-Chinese diplomatic relations, ICICLE’s two Cultural Spaces are staging a series of eight contemporary art exhibitions between Paris and Shanghai throughout 2024, curated by Myriam Kryger.
Internationally recognized, established or emerging, graduates of the most prestigious art academies or self-taught, these eight artists converge in a certain relationship to art and life. Faithful to painting and drawing, attentive to the visible world and far from any discursive or conceptual emphasis, they are above all creators of sensation, attuned to the vibration of the world, sensitive to its texture, its thickness, its mystery.
Parmi les artistes présentés, on notera le travail remarquable de Szeto LAP, né à Canton en 1949, vivant et travaillant entre Paris et Hangzhou.
Le parcours de création de Szeto Lap s’apparente à une longue méditation métaphysique, où l’hypnotique jeu d’ombre et de lumière de ses fusains manifeste un mélange de sérénité et de mystère, de quiétude et de doute qui habite des œuvres imprégnées de la pensée taoïste et de la tradition picturale chinoise autant que de la modernité occidentale artistique et philosophique.
Among the artists on show is Szeto LAP, born in Canton in 1949, who lives and works between Paris and Hangzhou.
Szeto Lap’s creative journey resembles a long metaphysical meditation, where the hypnotic interplay of light and shadow in his charcoals reveals a mixture of serenity and mystery, quietude and doubt, in works imbued with Taoist thought and Chinese pictorial tradition, as much as with Western artistic and philosophical modernity.
