Sasha Mongin is a Paris-based photographer and filmmaker known for her visually striking and imaginative work. Born in the United States in 1989, she initially studied Chinese language at INALCO in Paris and later began her photography career in Shanghai, creating a series on the rise of the Chinese middle class.
After graduating from the École des Gobelins in 2017, Sasha returned to Paris, where she developed a signature style emphasizing vibrant colors and dreamlike narratives.
Her work often explores themes of reality and imagination, blending whimsical and heroic elements. Notable achievements include creating the music video Rentrer chez moi for Christine and the Queens, participating in the « Moda » exhibition at the Centraal Museum, and earning recognition in prestigious photography festivals like InCadaqués and the Picto Prize for fashion photography.
Her recent projects, such as The Dying Man Who Would Not Die, delve into deeply personal stories, showcasing her ability to merge intimacy with artistic expression.
